Sometimes an image stops us. Not because we fail to understand it, but because something in us has already moved.
A symbol does not behave like an instruction. It opens a small inner space where something unnamed can begin to take form.
Carl Gustav Jung gave much of his work to symbols, dreams and recurring images in human experience. He did not treat symbols as secret codes. He saw them as a bridge between conscious attention and the quieter layers of the psyche.
The moon. A door. Water. Fire. A path. A house. A sword. A circle.
These images can touch us before we know why. Their power is not only in what they traditionally represent, but in what they awaken in us.
The better question is not always: “What does this mean?” Sometimes it is: “Why has this image appeared here, with this question, at this moment?”
At Velvet Secret, symbols are not treated as predictions or diagnoses. They are invitations to pause, notice and listen inwardly.
A good symbol does not take responsibility away from you. It helps you hear the part of yourself that may already know where the question began.
